Sutter Tracy Obstetrics Department
Sutter Tracy’s Family Birth Center receives top ratings among Tracy area residents year after year. Based on a family-centered maternity concept, our Birth Center features large, comfortable birthing suites where a mother may labor, deliver and recover without ever changing beds. Recently expanded and remodeled for greater privacy and comfort, the department is nearly 50 percent larger with more private rooms, a bigger and more comfortable waiting room, and specialty services such as lactation consulting and patient education. The department also features advanced systems for infant safety, as well as added touches such as a special gift for each mother, making Sutter Tracy simply the best place to welcome your new baby.
Our staff is committed to providing personal and compassionate care, and to assist you in achieving the type of delivery you want. Family members are welcome to share in the birth experience, and state-of-the-art fetal monitoring technology enables our obstetrical nurses to monitor mother and baby's progress from outside the room, allowing the family to maintain as much privacy as possible.
After the baby is delivered, the family remains in Couplet Care for the post-partum period. Here mother and baby room together while receiving care and guidance from specially trained nurses. This is a getting acquainted period, and while your privacy is respected, we are also available to answer your questions about newborn care. Our infant security system also gives new parents additional peace of mind during their hospital stay.
